This site is a tribute to Chris. He is much loved and will always be remembered.
it's with a heavy heart that as a family we share the news our beloved dad, husband, brother, grandad, great grandad gained his angel wings on 2nd October 2024.
Back story. Dad collapsed April 16th 2019 after suffering a burst aneurysm on his brain. Most people dont survive this however after surgery, complications and a stroke. Dad spent two weeks in intensive care. Fully paralysed down his right side and lost his speech. Four weeks in high dependency and 6 months at mount gould for rehabilitation before he came back home.
Dad has had a tough journey became diabetic, got cataracts in both eyes but he was always a fighter. He always pushed to become stronger and more independent. He managed to walk again, his speech was back to about 80% and he got his driving licence back and day by day year by year dad was striving.
Monday 30/09/2024 dad unfortunatly suffered a second bleed this time 10x worse than the first and dad was never going to survive this one.
Dad was on the organ donation register and we went on to gift his lungs, liver and kidneys to families in need. Dad was always such a kind man and always put others first.
Whilst in icu we had a trip to a nearly founded secret garden. This was were we got to spend some alone time with dad in a quiet and tranquil space.
In dads honour we would be donating to two trusts within the hospital
1. Mount gould after aided so much in dads initial rehabiliation
2. The icu secret garden to help put more benches in place for families.
Immediate family flowers only for the funeral but if anyone would like to support then the above would be dads chosen charities.
Dad was so loved by so many people and will be soley missed by so many of us.
R.i.p dad. Gone far to soon but will never be forgotton
Donations made in Chris' memory will benefit Plymouth Hospitals Charity & Livewell Southwest.
